1. What ages do you offer classes for?

Legacy Studios offers dance classes for ages 2.5 through Adults!
Our programs grow with your dancer — from our Mini Movers (ages 2.5–3.5) to Recreational or Advanced teen dancers, and even Adult classes for all experience levels.

2. What styles of dance do you offer?

We offer a wide range of styles, including:
Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Creative Movement, Lyrical, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Acro, and Cheer/Pom.
Our Adult program includes Jazz, Tap and Lyrical classes designed for fitness, fun, and connection.

3. Do you offer classes for beginners?

Yes! Most of our classes are designed for beginners through experienced dancers. Our instructors meet each dancer where they are — whether they’re stepping into the studio for the first time or returning after years away.

4. How can we try a class before committing?

We offer a Free Trial Class for new students!

5. What should my child wear to class?

Each class has a simple, age-appropriate dress code designed for comfort and safety.
You’ll receive a welcome email with dress code details after registration, but in general:

  • Preschool dancers: leotard, tights, and ballet or tap shoes

  • Older dancers: dancewear appropriate for the style (e.g. jazz pants, ballet slippers, tap shoes)

  • Adults: comfortable activewear — no dress code stress

6. Are your teachers qualified?

Absolutely! Our instructors are professionally trained and certified in their styles, and they share a passion for nurturing confidence and joy through dance.
Our Acro teacher is certified by Acrobatic Arts, ensuring safety and proper technique in every class.

7. What makes Legacy Studios different?

At Legacy Studios, dance is about more than steps — it’s about connection, confidence, and community.
We pride ourselves on being a family-friendly studio that uses age-appropriate music, costumes, and choreography, so every dancer feels safe, valued, and inspired.

8. Do you participate in recitals or performances?

Yes! We hold an annual recital where dancers can showcase their progress and perform for family and friends.
It’s a highlight of the year — a joyful celebration of everything our dancers have learned and accomplished!

9. How are costumes handled?

Each performing class will have a recital costume.
Parents are notified of costume costs and ordering deadlines early in the season.
We take pride in selecting age-appropriate, beautiful costumes that complement each class’s style.

10. What if my child is shy or unsure about starting dance?

That’s totally okay — many of our dancers start out that way!
Our teachers specialize in helping children feel comfortable and confident in class.
After just a few weeks, you’ll see your dancer’s personality shine through movement and music.

11. How do I register?

12. What happens if we need to miss a class?

We understand that families get busy! If you miss a class, you can schedule a make-up session in another appropriate class when space and timing allows.
Our goal is always to keep your dancer engaged and feeling part of the Legacy dance family.

13. Do you offer adult dance classes?

Yes! Our Adult Program is open to ages 22–75 and includes Tap, Jazz, and Lyrical.
No experience required — just a positive attitude and a desire to move, laugh, and make new friends!

14. Where are you located?

Legacy Studios is conveniently located at 295 California Street, Newton MA, inside the American Legion Post 440, close to Belmont, Waltham and Watertown — serving local families who value creativity, inclusivity, and fun!
